also known as Bris Milah, is the symbol of Jewish identity. It connects the newborn baby to the long chain of generations before him.
A Mohel
A Mohel
is a specialist trained in the art of circumcision. In addition to being expertly trained in the medical and surgical aspects of circumcision, it is important that a Mohel should be a righteous, G-d-fearing Jew and worthy of performing this holy task.
Rabbi Gershon Licht
is an expert in both the surgical and traditional aspects of circumcision as well as conducting a meaningful ceremony.
From a young age, Rabbi Licht was his mother’s right-hand man due to his magical touch with babies. Becoming a Mohel was a natural progression. He has advanced milah skills and has experience in complex situations, including those on babies born with hypospadias.

The Circumcision Process
Before
Unless a child is jaundiced or unwell, a Jewish bris takes place on the eighth day of life, traditionally early on in the day. Rabbi Licht is well-trained to examine your baby, guide you, and inform you if it is safe for the bris to take place on time.
During
With quick, confident strokes, Rabbi Licht performs the circumcision in under 30 seconds with precision and with minimal discomfort to the baby.
After
The parents are given clear aftercare instructions. Most babies recover within a few days of the procedure. Follow-up visits are accommodated when needed.
Reassurance. Guidance. Care.
Rabbi Licht is always available to hear and address your concerns, so you can approach the circumcision with confidence and calm. Whether about the customs associated with a traditional bris milah or the procedure itself, all questions are encouraged-there is no such thing as a foolish question!
Why would a non-Jewish parent choose to have his/her baby circumcised?
Quick. Safe. Gentle.
Many hospitals offer circumcision on-site, shortly after birth. However, Jewish tradition teaches us that circumcision should be performed on the eighth day and only by a qualified Mohel. This form of circumcising has been done for over 3700 years! A medical, hospital circumcision does not fulfill the halachic requirements of bris milah and is not considered valid according to Jewish law.

*Rabbi Licht uses Kaolin powder directly after the circumcision. Administering Kaolin powder helps bring the natural coagulants in the blood up to the surface which ensures a quicker recovery. In fact, most babies don’t even need a bandage minutes after circumcision.
